ADORA commemorated Dominican Broadcasting Day by reaffirming its commitment to free, ethical and transformative radio

On July 23, the Dominican Republic celebrated Dominican Broadcasting Day, which was established by Decree No. 3874 of August 9, 1969.

This date also commemorates the anniversary of the founding of our Institutional Partner, the Dominican Association of Radio Broadcasters - ADORA, created in 1967.

ADORA and its President called on society to “reflect on the transforming role that radio has played in our society and the challenges it faces today in order to remain a free, ethical and current medium”.

“Radio has been the medium that has been able to adapt to the changes, without losing its essence: to inform, educate, entertain and connect everyone, regardless of class, age or place,” said the President of ADORA, Ms. Rosa Olga Medrano. (Source: NotiMusica).

Ms. Medrano said that we must continue to maintain a modern, responsible and committed radio station, not only with the democratic and institutional development of the country, but also with the defense of the spectrum, the promotion of effective public policies and the constant training of all Dominican broadcasters.

ADORA "reiterates that the future of the media will depend on its ability to reinvent itself: betting on technological innovation, strengthening the institutional framework of the sector and reconnecting with audiences based on credibility and quality. Because, as the association rightly summarizes, radio is not only listened to: it is felt, it is trusted, it is needed". (Source: Diario Digital)
