July 20, 2025, ANDEBU celebrated its 92nd Anniversary and National Broadcasting Day, reaffirming its commitment to freedom, fair regulation and accountability

The National Association of Uruguayan Broadcasters with its President, Dr. Rafael Inchausti, its Directors and Members, celebrated its 92nd anniversary, reflecting on the profound challenges facing the media ecosystem in the digital era, as well as renewing the commitment to free, plural and responsible communication.

The event was attended by national authorities, various representatives of public agencies, cultural entities, broadcasters and the communications sector.

The message warned about the inequity of the current regulatory framework, which imposes strict requirements on national radio and television stations, while granting a worrying freedom to international technology giants that act as media, without assuming digital responsibilities.

It also called on the public authorities, civil society and the actors of the digital ecosystem to “build a healthy, fair and transparent communication environment that promotes diversity, protects national work and allows each citizen to choose freely where to be informed, recreate and cultivate themselves”.

IAB's central office was present at the event, as were IAB's Uruguayan managers.
