IAB Condemns Acts of Violence Against Todo Noticias (TN) and El Trece in Buenos Aires
The International Association of Broadcasting (IAB) strongly condemns the serious acts of violence that took place on Tuesday, June 10, in the city of Buenos Aires, when a group of individuals attacked the facilities of the channels Todo Noticias (TN) and El Trece with stones and blunt objects, endangering the physical safety of their staff and causing significant material damage.
Such actions represent a direct threat to freedom of expression, the safety of journalists, and the free and independent functioning of the media, which are pillars essential to any democratic society.
We express our solidarity with the journalists, staff, and executives of TN and El Trece, and urge the Argentine authorities and public institutions to take immediate action to identify all those responsible for these criminal acts and bring them to justice.
